A LinkedIn About Section That Answers a Buyer's First Five Questions

Disclosure: FansFlux and Penmowu are operated by the same owner. This article includes commercial references where relevant. Public service descriptions are not a hands-on performance test.

A company description should help a visitor decide whether the business is relevant. It is not a trophy cabinet for adjectives such as innovative, trusted and world-class.

Use five questions: Who do you help? What problem do you address? What do you actually deliver? What makes the scope specific? What should an interested reader do next? LinkedIn's Page guidance provides the feature context for completing a business presence. LinkedIn: Company Pages

Draft in concrete sentences

Consider this hypothetical starting point: “We help regional manufacturers organize maintenance records. Our team configures the software, imports approved data and trains the people who use it. Projects begin with a scope review so we can assess the current system and migration requirements.”

The example is stronger because it explains work, not because it contains a special keyword formula. Replace the details with facts the business can substantiate. Do not invent client numbers, certifications or geographic coverage.

Add the boundary that saves time

Clarify an important limitation such as industry focus, service region, project type or implementation model. A relevant exclusion can prevent enquiries that the business cannot serve. It is not necessary to sound suitable for everyone.

Use terminology buyers recognize, and explain specialist terms when the audience may not share them. Keyword repetition should not make the text awkward or obscure the offer.

Test comprehension

Ask a colleague unfamiliar with the business to summarize the offer after reading the description. If the answer differs from what you sell, repair the wording before changing colors or adding slogans.

Keep the approved description in the company's content records and update it when the offer changes. A complete Page does not guarantee reach or leads, but it removes avoidable uncertainty when people arrive.
